Our commitment to a circular business model involves providing a better way to design, make, wear and circulate clothing to help create a more equitable and sustainable world.

Integrating circularity into our business model means we choose fibers that are:

Regenerative
Renewable
Recyclable

So that clothes we make today regenerate into raw materials for clothes we make tomorrow. We also aim to minimize water, chemical and energy usage wherever possible throughout the production of each garment.

We work closely with local fabric suppliers in Auckland, New Zealand. Durable, high-quality and full of benefits - we work exclusively with natural fibers and fabrics. Durability is of peak importance to us, as we design with longevity in mind, so we select fibers that last, that age gracefully, and provide comfort to the wearer. Solely using natural fibers also mean giving back to the earth as they biodegrade after the life of the garment. Fabrics made of the earth return to the earth as they break down naturally, beautifully without contributing to landfill.

The value of design

At the drawing board, effortless and understated elegance that captures a timeless appeal is central to our aesthetic. Towa’s design is inspired by the timeless concept of “less is more” - minimalism is the ticket to pulling this look off. So we design minimalistic pieces that will outlast trends and complement your personality without overpowering your individuality.

What we love about a minimalistic wardrobe is that it can easily take on a new mood by introducing subtle details and texture. Whether your day is more about practicality, functionality, or even escapism, minimalism can help you dress for any of those occasions but doing it in a way that isn’t compromising something else. Natural and breathable fabrics are the ingredients of Towa clothes that allow you to feel uninhibited and free.

Our garments are designed to last beyond season, moving away from the practice of fast fashion that creates excessive waste with detrimental environmental impact. In a culture shaped by fast fashion, the stigma around repeating outfit is deeply ingrained but we aim to embrace the notion and to encourage slowing down. Our designs are intended to be essentials that can be mixed-and-matched or transition seamlessly between occasions.

Fashion is an incredible form of art and self-expression, and the power of change is in our hands. We can design new ways of producing and consuming fashion that excites and inspire without causing irreversible damage to people and the environment. We hope to inspire our customers to explore and discover their own personal style through considered designs in order to generate a more sustainable future.
